Hmm, I thought I posted this already. Oh well, maybe not. This started out as a Salzo V2 X-Wing. I was tired of all the Red 2's, 3's and 5's out there so I decided to do something different. Red 2 was the first painted X-Wing to be filmed. However the original paint scheme for the X-Wings was to be blue! The Y-Wings were going to be Red Squadren. But when they tried filming Blue Leader in front of the blue screen all the blue markings shoed up black on screen. Look at R2's head in the space shots, his markings are black as well. So, they decided to make the X-Wings red and the Y's went gold. Blue Leader was then repainted and became Red 2. So, to make a long story short (too late) I built Blue Leader. There are about 100 fiber optics running into R2's head. Fiber optics also light the cockpit. Four 10mm red LEDs take care of the engines. It all runs on a 3v power supply that plugs into the wall. The seated Luke is actually the "thin" action figure with a repaint and some trimming to fit. I need to take some new pics of this. Maybe next week....
