Thanks Craig, The original was even more subtle, but I wanted moon dust :-) I almost went for the 'Moon' film look as that's much more real, but balanced that with the Space 1999 look.
I think I'm going to airbrush a little white/light gray over the orange tanks next I have the airbrush out, just to tone them down a little. L

Bet it felt great after such a long journey with this one to finally finish it.
Looking at the result it was time well spent. Incredibly clean build! The finished look is perfect and that weathering is right on the money to me. I see what you are saying about them tanks, they could use a lil bit of a tone down to bring it into line with the rest. Even so, it's a fine looking build and one to be proud of!

Holy Frak! That is a GORGEOUS build, if you didn't say anything, would've sworn it was an original filming miniature. This is an outstanding piece, and your skills and attention to construction, paint and weathering definitely shows. Hope you are proud of this piece, I know we are! -Sean |
