My latest Aquisition - erospawn - 11-09-2010

Well.. I've been pretty quiet lately..I purchased the below from Sovereign Replica's and have been working on a limited re-release of this kit.. I finished making the molds not too long ago.. and with a small learning curve to overcome, they came out just fine.. Now, on to the next learning curve...Laying fiber glass.. I've been working on that for the last couple of weeks with experiments etc learning the material..a couple failures along way.. but lots of learning and have have my first production pull, of the saucer sections, coming up soon... But, laying fiber glass is not an easy task by any means.. and probably is more labor intensive than actually making the molds!

Congrats on getting the masters from Rich. IMHO it's the most beautiful Starship kit available and I hope you find continued success with it!Cool

Congrats as well. Can you PM me what a kit would sell for?

RE: My latest Aquisition - JAWS - 11-09-2010

Good work Ron. The moulds look sweet mate. Big lurning curve there thats for sure.

RE: My latest Aquisition - dbhs - 11-09-2010

Looks good. I'm sure this is ton of work and justifies the high price of these kits (in addition to the quality of course). I'd love to get one of these but I know it would take me years to finish it. The one that Ian Lawrence did is a masterpiece.

I hope you don't mind me posting this pic, Ron. Just showing what is possible with this kit.

Thanks guys... there is still a lot of ppl who are interested in this kit. I want to be able to make my money back and that looks like it might happen, but it's still going to take a lot of work. REL certainly set the standard for certain!

Ero,
If I might ask- did you also get the PE and decal files? I'd rather imagine so but still I ask.Tongue

RE: My latest Aquisition - erospawn - 11-09-2010

Yep sure did... the PE is another story. I have them, but they weren't setup for PE as it were. I've been working with a manufacturer and I've been having to modify the art work for PE. Right now, they are line art and haven't been filled in..fun fun. It's all coming together.. albeit slowly.

RE: My latest Aquisition - DarthDuck - 11-09-2010

I assumed you'd get it all and I'm sure you'll get the rest sorted as well.Cool

Did you take photos of the moulding process Ron. Would be a nice addition in the Tips n Tricks.
