More than a SS Masterpiece! Make-a-wish Millenium Falcon - Cylon-Knight - 10-30-2010 I was getting some groceries tonight and stopped at the Magazine Rack for a bit... I picked up the new Star Wars Insider and was trying to soak it up without having to buy it. There was one article that did catch my eye right away and thought the Falcon builders here would be interested in it, one for the fact it was a BUILD, and two for the awesome reason why it was built. This Masterpiece Millenium Falcon was a wish granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation for a nine-year-old boy with leukemia. He asked for a Millenium Falcon play fort. Check out how HUGE it is! The SW Insider said it is 14 feet wide (if I remember right). They had to remove a huge section of the family’s fence to get it in the back yard COOLHere is one quick pic of it being loaded up... on the way to make one very sick boy, very happy. ![]() A few Webpages with info on the wish, and the Falcon - they have more pictures of it inside and outside both. http://www.wish.org/stories/fantasy/playhouse/christian_millenium_falcon http://io9.com/5569463/make+a+wish-turns-one-childs-backyard-into-the-millennium-falcon http://www.geekologie.com/2010/06/makeawish_millennium_falcon_ge.php I just thought this was so awesome and wanted to post it up. I know it's not a "true SS build" but it is such an amazing ship/fort for such a good reason. Free labor by skilled craftsmen, Lowes donated most of the materials, local Firemen helped to build a starship! And the 501st sent troops to the install party. Wow. RE: More than a SS Masterpiece! Make-a-wish Millenium Falcon - JAWS - 10-30-2010 Wellcan't argue with the fact thats a Masterpiece. that is one lucky kid. I love the pics from the last link 'geekologie' that shows the inside of the build. I can't let my son see this. O crap here he comes! RE: More than a SS Masterpiece! Make-a-wish Millenium Falcon - darkimmitator - 10-30-2010 One awesome project for an even awesomer cause !!!! Nice post ,Cylon Knight !!!! RE: More than a SS Masterpiece!
