Just found this forum in a search for some kit scans.
I'm currently working on a studio scale bomber sled from Buck Rogers. There aren't a lot of kit parts on it, but I'm hoping to ID them instead of guessing!

If your reference for the sled can be made public then you can always start a thread highlighting the parts in question that you are searching for. Not saying anyone will be able to help but it can't hurt just the same..
btw, would you be the person who in my book basicly saved one very well known original SS miniature from a probable trash can?

Post a thread with some pictures & we'll see what we can come up with.
More than likely there are parts on it that were used in BSG or STAR WARS so theres plenty of people around here that may be able to assist.

I don't have the pics handy- but they are all at various places on the web. At the time (1990, pre internet), the prospect of reproducing that model kit part by kit part was not thought to be a possibility, so unfortunatley I didn't get a lot of detail pics. Been kicking myself ever since!
The model was saved a couple times from the trash heap- once by me, and again by the current owner. If he hadn't gone after it years after I worked on it, it would surely be lost now.

No worries on the pic's. I have seen some on the net as you mention. Just thought it would have been good to have em posted here under the Galactica section also. If the do become handy at sometime i hope you'll be able to add em still.
Have to agree 100% that it's great that the miniature is in the hands of a collector that actually has a passion for the subject. That miniature couldn't be in safer hands really when ya look at it. As you said, it'd probably be gone long ago if it was not the case. The same as it could have been earlier if not for you.

I can't really take credit for 'saving' it- I gave it a little more 'restoration' attention than was requested (they just wanted it thrown back together and didn't care what went where). I think I made the folks at Universal at the time see it a little more as valuable film history, and not just another piece of window dressing (which is what they bought it for in 1990).

And that there is perhaps saving it in a way. I wonder if the job would have been just too hard had it been someone else instead of yourself.
My understanding is it was in pretty bad shape how you received it and for someone else they may not have seen it as a lil bit of valuable history film or just too bad to eevn worry about. I do think you played a large part in that miniature still being around today really. Good on ya!!
