Colonial One - dbhs - 11-23-2009 Here's the Colonial One model I finished up recently. This is a resin kit from Starcraft Models and is available here: http://www.federationmodels.com/ and http://www.starfleet-models.com/Models/Genre/Battlestar_Galactica/Default.htm. It is 1:200 scale and about 16.5" long. I have more pictures and the build diary on my website dbhs modeler. Thanks for looking. -Doug ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
RE: Colonial One - Wombat - 11-23-2009 Glad you posted this Doug!! This to me is simply the best looking Colonial One i've ever seen done. You didn't muck around and through everything into it bar the kitchen sink!Or is that in there with the seating? Killer job dude,on all of it,the lighting, interior detailing and then the paint and weathering. It look's just perfect bud!! RE: Colonial One - JAWS - 11-23-2009 That is just a sick piece of work Doug. Actually watching your build thread kept me going on the SSD when I wanted to give the lighting idea away. You had to tackle many of the same problems as I & just kept going. Made me feel like a wussy to think of givin in. Just love this ship. So impressive all lit up & the paint works slick. Youve definately made an impression with your skills. RE: Colonial One - DarthDuck - 11-23-2009 I used to be ridiculed (by friends of the geek persuasion!) for never, ever, having watched any BSG????? I've since remedied that with one single old VHS tape of the original and then all the seasons of the 'new' BSG which I'm still working my way through. As I've watched the new series I have wondered if anyone kitted the Colonial One, it being as distinctive, and to me, sleek, as it is. And now here's your's!!!! You flat out kicked ass on this one dude! Kudos and thanks for sharing!
RE: Colonial One - erospawn - 11-24-2009 Yep.. thats a pretty awesome build man.. fantastic job! RE: Colonial One - dbhs - 11-24-2009 Thanks a lot, guys. It was a very challenging build to be sure. Nearly went crazy masking and painting the engines and flaps. It really looks a lot bigger in these pictures than in real life. I got used to seeing these pictures lately and now when I look a the model it seem so small. Don, Glad to hear your getting into BSG. The first scene of the first episode of 4.5 is one of my favorites. |
