RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - dbhs - 06-07-2011

I'm just waiting on JT Graphics to get back to me on the decal order. I have a few questions about how to format the white color in the file. After that it's ready to go.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 06-07-2011

Ok heres some pics of the pig after a dark wash & rb back. Next are the red stripes & dark panels. Then some light washes. Getting there slowly.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 10-31-2011

So I thought I nearly had this model wrapped up & off the bench which I need desperately for some space....
Not so.
I was putting on 2 of the last pieces when I noticed my domes were way too far forward.
I couldn't live with this so have disasembled the top section.
Nothing I couldn't replace broke Dodgy
So am now sanding back to fix the error.
Im getting use to doing this now & is better to do it than leave it.
Big Grin

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Wombat - 10-31-2011

At the end of the day yourself is the only one that needs to be happy with things. In this case you wasn't happy with the dome's placement and i can understand the reason for the re working you are doing. I'm like that also at times. You should have seen muy method for removing the engines of my shuttle build when i had them out of position. LOL In some ways we are just getting anal about it but thats a good thing, as striving for perfection is a good goal to have. We don't need to look to far around here to see what perfection actually is. You and i may never actually get there but the fun is in the trying, right?

Edit: another db post

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Snake Plissken - 11-01-2011

Do we know what model kit the #1 part is from? I been looking for that part now for a long time.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Snake Plissken - 12-12-2011

I need to know if there is a other kit that has this part?
I know you can get them in the Doyusha Yamato kit, but
I can never find that kit no where? So I hope there is a
alternative kit I can use? Or does any one of you have
casting of the parts? Thanks!

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 06-17-2012

The ol Shuttle.
THIS HAS BECOME A BIG PRIORITY TO GET FINISHED.
She's pretty much done.
Just have to re-secure the domes, the details, the piping & repaint....

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Wombat - 06-17-2012

Well looking at it all it really is almost done now. Wont take you too long to actually finish this build off and what a fine build it is. These shuttles are really cool and pretty impressive in size as those that have one know.

Good thing is they will soon be available again soon for those that would like to have one as well.

Anyway, nuff babbling here, get stuck into it lad!!

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 06-18-2012

Yeah might have it finished by what 2022......

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Wombat - 06-18-2012

Well as it's a priority to get done i'd hope you'd have it finished by 2020 at least..Smile

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 06-19-2012

Yeah mate.
I have a couple more kits to do & then having a break to build some of my, numerous, projects....

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 08-20-2012

Well have been pretty crook for the last couple of weeks & this thing was buggin the hell out of me.
So little to go to the end so just sat down & did it.
4 Pieces to go on the starbord deck rail & ready for a repaint.
Going to keep it studio accurate as much as possible.
So will have a relatively plain cleanish look.
Can see the light finally on this build.
A builld.......

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Apophis - 08-20-2012

looks great! id love to have one, hey Jase, save me a casting of this shuttle , so when i win the lottery i can get one LOL!

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - LastBattlestar - 08-20-2012

Join the queue Jerry, right behind me!

Looks really good Jase. I don't know about you, but I really enjoy bending up all those little TB1 pipes.Smile

Mike

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - darkimmitator - 08-20-2012

That is looking fantastic Jase . I think it looks better really dirtied up , personally . I too would love to own one of those babies !!! So was there any new discoveries on this subject with the recent Papas pics ?

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 08-21-2012

Thanks fellas.
Its great to nearly be at the end.
Again!
The kit will be available soon.
I havent seen any new bits.
They really covered the bases on this payern

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Wombat - 08-21-2012

Thats great news!! Back on the shuttle, not the being unwell part that is.

Looking pretty good there and really ready for the repaint. Stick with it now till it's done as you really are that close with it all.

And dare i say it, bout time!Tongue

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 08-21-2012

I expect you guys to say it.
Especially you mate.

So what are those little bolt things out of that I need to finish this darn thing?
The ones that run the edge of the roof either side of the piping.

I forgot & need 4 to finish this.
I bet there from the bloody Moto Crosser!

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Wombat - 08-21-2012

Lucky for you it's not that one.

We've obviously spoken since this post and i think it was on the shuttle parts maps. Just the same the two parts are in the German E Boat kit.

As for new discoveries. The shuttle pics were posted on RI and i've noticed one pair of things being different in that new back shot. Bad news is i've found the parts. Damn, i hate reworking!! lol
Jase can you post a picture of the rear shot in the shuttle reference area and i'll throw an ID on these new parts.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 08-22-2012

Out of all the frakn kits I have I can't believe I don't have the E!!!!!....
Thankfully me mate Wombles is sending me some spares.
So this model is actually going to get finished.
Wow!
Im actually going to have a finished piece.
That is amazing.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - darkimmitator - 08-22-2012

I am writing it down on the calender right now ! lol . Congrats Jase . now soon as its done , Isn't there a big G , that needs finishing ?

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - dbhs - 08-23-2012

Awesome, Jase. This is going to be your first finished studio scale model? It will be relieving to have it finished and energizing to get more of them done at the same time.
I really liked the amount of weathering you had on it already. Probably looks heavier in person as it ususally does, but I like them dirty.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Wombat - 08-23-2012

Hopefully you are doing what i said and not waiting for the parts.

In a week or so this should be finished!Cool

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 08-23-2012

Kenny, yes the Big G is due fior some extra work.
Overdue.
Unfortunately my thirst for accuracy to a certain degree slows me down.
Im slowly learning to let 'some' things go, but, it is frakn hard!
'Excessive Compulsive Studio Scale Syndrome' I call it now.
The really bad part is its turning into 'Studio Accurate Syndrome' which would be much more terrifying on the nervous & mental state.....
Already over worked don't know if I would survive that path.

Doug.
Yep first 'finished' studio scale build.
As you know I have several studio scale builds in various stages of progress.
All other scales have been discarded from ever increasing thirst for 'recipes' as my good mate 'SCAN' calls them.
Which leads to ever increasing amounts of kit pats being segregated into groups for future studio scale builds.
The biggest of which will be the Galactica or Blockade Runner.
It will be a definate 'relief' to get this one off the bench & in the house where I can view it completed.
In a case like you had made for yours which is impressive in itself.
Let alone the technical masterpiece it holds!

Phil, mate.
You are a true friend.
A true good bloke & someone I look forward to speaking with as much as possible.
I thank you for your time & efforts on this site & off.
Can't believe I don't have that frakn kit!
Lol!
Cheers mate.

So I'll be getting my primer & paint tomorrow or the next day.
Maybe the next day after that but this bird should be flyin the coupe by the end of next week.
Hmmm, Ive said that before...

So If theres something Ive missed, speak up now so it can be corrected.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Wombat - 08-24-2012

Thanks for the nice words, Jase.

You ain't a half bad fella yourself mate!

So then,
You'll need to add these to both your own and the kit when you start releasing that.

[attachment=12055]

Still think them engine bells come from the Monogram Saturn V but i'm not 100% sure there like most things.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 08-24-2012

Doh....
Yeah saw those little buggers in the pic.
Will try & post it.
I also noticed the two bolt things that sit either side of the armateure have rods/sticks in them.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Wombat - 08-24-2012

Those two bolt/stick things are part of the JPS parts. Them 'sticks' get broken off pretty easily with the castings but it's an easy fix. I just reglued my broken one and from memory, Doug replaced his with brass rod. Nothing to hard for ya!

Just another small part to add also as i don't think you have it there?

Those go on the rear end, don't they?

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Wombat - 08-25-2012

^
Yep, they sure do.

Thankfully nothing too hard to add to the builds so we are all good there. I guess you should be able ta hit Jase up for a set pretty soon.
The parts are in the 1/72 ESCI Half Track 250/3 for those who do have that kit already.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 08-25-2012

Got that one...
Yeah I have the little steps on the waist to dome.
Thats why I had to rebuild the top section.
My domes were too far apart & the steps didn't reach!

So the weathers turned around real fast & back to beautiful 23* + days.
Their sayin its going to be a loong hot summer.
Yippyyyy!!!!
I hate the cold, I just don't function correctly.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Wombat - 08-25-2012

Yeah the warmer weather is much nicer to function in for sure. Mind you, too hot ain't that good either but fortunately i have air conditioning when it comes to that.

Oh i was wondering if you had that little step underneath the part at the rear? Theres a cut one used there also.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 08-25-2012

WTF!!!!!
Are you serious....
Well aint painting anything until the other parts arrive.
We should get parcels around the same time.
Happy belated birthday with that one mate.
Is a couple of extras to look over.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Wombat - 08-25-2012

Well you really shouldn't have, mate, but thank you just the same!!
I'm very much looking forward to getting it and thank you for what i know it contains. Really appreciate you doing that work for me!

Yeah, no BS, theres one of those parts that you cut and put down first and then place the other piece on top. Just add those pieces mentioned and you are good to paint as far as i can see.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 09-09-2012

Would like to have this completed before I move out.
Not going to happen, but can complete the last few parts.
Have reprimed to find what needs cleaning up before adding the last parts.
Will paint this at the parents house.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - darkimmitator - 09-09-2012

Lookin forward to that finnish line , as i am sure you are too . Really like this ship . So ugly It's cute !!! lol One of the best shuttles of any genre .

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 09-10-2012

I agree.
It is what it is & nothing more which is kool.
I also have grown to like what Lee did with the new gen version.
Just a couple of spots to smooth out & add the last parts.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - Wombat - 09-11-2012

Even with just the re primer it looks pretty damn good!!

It's a start towards the finish line again and if that spanner hadn't got thrown into the works you'd probably be done! Can't do much when that happens but least it wont be too far off completion once you do get set up at the new place.

Sooner or later you will finish this!!

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - dbhs - 09-11-2012

I don't see the new rear photo posted in the shuttle reference section. Can you post a link? Thanks.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - dbhs - 09-14-2012

Anyone, Bueller?

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - JAWS - 09-14-2012

I tried loading the pictures but are too big.
Ive packed down my work computer for shipping & that has my photoshop etc on it.

RE: Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica Shuttle - dbhs - 09-15-2012

No problem. I thought they had been posted already and I just wasn't able to find them.
