RE: millenium falcon 32" my story so far - Wombat - 01-02-2013 I''m really enjoying following this build. If that interior is too tall all i can think of is you'll need to go smaller and do the detailing in a forced perspective kind of way. RE: millenium falcon 32" my story so far - dbhs - 01-02-2013 The custom modifications look great there, peza. Nice work. RE: millenium falcon 32" my story so far - Wombat - 01-16-2013 Looking good there. Ya really getting stuck into it and it's coming along nicely indeed. Keep it coming! RE: millenium falcon 32" my story so far - LastBattlestar - 01-16-2013 Outstanding scratchbuilding Peza! Really cool detail that will make your model one of a kind. Clever engineering too, just make sure that ramp hinge is epoxied or something similar. You don't want to be cracking the hull open later on to fix it. Great work mate. RE: millenium falcon 32" my story so far - peza - 03-06-2013 eh up all. i`ve been doin abit more on my old buzzard this week. firstly i made up my 16 LED`s for the landing lights. next i made some caps for the LED`s to sit on,which go on the tubes in the model, but before i could mount them i had me level up the tubes which i started by using my mini files but i took too long so i ended up using my dremel with a circular disk in the middle of the tubes and used the edge of the disk to grind it down all the way round at once. once they were mounted i started to knock up some rings for the cable to run through with abit of plumbers pipe.and the last thing i did was to go in my shed with my mobile as a torch to find some cable, and the old hoover got it,a sacrafice for the greater good!!but i`ve not told the wifeyet(gum shield on standby!!) ![]() i`ve put some images and i`ll post again once i get it wired up and the lights are working................cheers peza RE: millenium falcon 32" my story so far - THX1701 - 03-06-2013 (03-06-2013, 09:00 AM)peza Wrote: eh up all. RE: millenium falcon 32" my story so far - kbilly - 03-06-2013 The ramp and exterior lights look really cool. It'll be a sweet model when it's all lit up. Lol cheers pezaRE: millenium falcon 32" my story so far - peza - 08-03-2013 eh up all, i`ve been doin abit more this week, for widardofthenorth i`ve taken afew photos and try to say what and how i`m buildin my bits.hears the first image.[attachment=13580]its i`ve the photo referance of the piece i`m about to build,i think that it`s a gearbox part?[attachment=13581] i start of with some 2mm thick styrene and cut it down to size and round of the edges. .next i shape up the edges and cut up some fibre optic cable which is only half mm thick, but i dont think ya can ya can see it on the photos(wait til i primer it and i think ya will be able to see it). [attachment=13584][attachment=13582][attachment=13583]now to made the circular shape at the other end i first dremel up one of me old pens and put some half mm thick styrene over the top and with some styrene tube insert it in to the middle. finally i make the clock effect and surrounded it with some more thin styrene,so thats one down and one to go![attachment=13585] hope ya like the images and i`ve explained it ok.. cheers peza ![]() ![]() RE: millenium falcon 32" my story so far - Wombat - 08-03-2013 Pictures are great and that is a good bit of work scratchin something up that'll look the part. [attachment=15526] so like i said i got these bolts, but the heads were way to big,but i liked the alan key heads instead of a bolt or screw head, with a dremel and half an hour i cut the heads down to something i wanted. [attachment=15527]the next thing was to cut the inside of the top for the nuts and then 2 part epoxy and milliput to fix them into place.. [attachment=15528] and finally while my milliput is dryin i fixed the ramp and tested the tunnel light on the interior(so happy it`s fixed and workin again).....i will pull my friends fingers off if he touches it again...so i`m just waitin for the bolt mounts to dry now and i`m off again on.....happy buildin!!cheers peza RE: millenium falcon 32" my story so far - JAWS - 02-06-2014 Looking good mate.
