RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - darkimmitator - 09-21-2011 Ah yeah ! Good to see you are back at this Jase . And you are doing the same section that I am working on right now . I tell you , you are in for a real treat with this part of the build . Lots of areas where things can shift while assembling .I started assembly from the bottom working my way up to the top . Those laser cut pieces look nice and sharp !! ( cut mine by hand ) yikes!!! Keep them updates comming , I need the inspiration . RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - JAWS - 09-22-2011 Thanks fellas. Yeah this is going to be fun. I know it will be a challenge but just can't wait to start detailing. The weathers great here now so will be back to casting. I have alot of parts I need to get done for myself & others. My Star Destroyer is also being cut so between that the Pod & Galactica I have plenty to keep me occupied. Thanks eveyone. RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - JAWS - 09-30-2011 So it begins again.... Started getting the landing bays constructed today whilst I wait for my Devestator parts to get done. Its so good to have everything I need just to build now. Don't have to worry about waiting for parts & sections to get cut as I now have them all & can just concentrate on the build's. This is the easy bit & am looking forward to the challenge of building the caps
RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - darkimmitator - 09-30-2011 I am not seeing any posts past page 70 ??????? Never mind , everything poped up after I made the above post . Excellent job on the bays Jase , keep them posts coming buddy , I need the inspiration !!!! RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - Richard_2001 - 09-30-2011 Jason, Looks very good there! Little by little, bit by bit you will have it all together and then be swearing over not having all the right kit parts to detail it Richard RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - JAWS - 09-30-2011 Looking at them reminds me of Noah's Ark. Theres a crazy swiss guy building an Ark & its unbelieveable what theyve built. These look like what he's built. Anyway thanks fellas & yes Kenny there will be lots of updates from now on. I have all my builds at the stages where I can just work on them instead of screwin around trying to make sure dimensions are accurate. These will come together quite quickly & am eyeing the head off in preparation for commencing that aswell. Richard your on the ball as usual but I can homestly say I don't have many kits to get that are known for this builds. But will most likely be the ones I need....... RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - JAWS - 09-30-2011 Bit by bit ![]() These bays aren't as straight forward as I would have hoped. Looking at the Pappas pictures there seems to be some lipping along the trenches... I will have to study the few pictures there are of the bays & their trenches. Stay tuned. RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - Wombat - 09-30-2011 WTFG there mate!!! Yeah, now ya cooking! Good stuff, that is so cool seeing them bays together. You have almost got the first fase outa the way, the caps are another thing for them bays but the big picture to me anyway is i see a couple of Gal landing bays already. Nice work! Just the head to go bud and the bloody way you've been cranking along with this again it'l be no time till that fine piece will proudly display a head. Really clean work on the bay's, are you still using that weld on 14 or whatever it is? I have trouble using that stuff, i get it everywhere more than where i actually want it. Ken and yourself are going at it like theres no tomorrow, bloody good to see! LOL Edit: another double post in the one reply, is it just me this happens to? RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - darkimmitator - 09-30-2011 Hey Jase , I haven't forgotten to take pics of the 1:250 musashi , It is always too dark after I get home from work . My camera doesn't take very good pics with the flash either . Hopin to get off work a little earlier today , and if so ,will take them pics for sure !!!! I have the old revell 1:28 spad as well ,and the italleri gotha go , do you want pics of those as well ? RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - JAWS - 10-01-2011 Phil thanks for the call last night it was good to have a chat. Sorry had to cut us short but had work at 0200am & had a few beers in the arvey. She's comin along ok. I had to to tear one apart as it was on a lean & not horizontal & vertical. Might have been the beers! Kenny that would be good mate all the scans we can add are valuable resource for everyone. Ive just fixed the crooked bay & am looking at skinning the rest. I noticed that the bays have an overhang at the top wall & an indentation in the lower outside wall. This will be tricky. RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - Wombat - 10-01-2011 It was good chatting with you last night also mate! OK, the trenches on the bays are made outa C channel amd this is what creates the overhang or lips that you see. All you'll need to do is get the closest strips that work with the design your working with. The sizing Mike used is larger than what i'll be using on my build by one size from memory. Time to breakout that Plastruct catalog you have and see what will work on with them bays. Edit: DP again RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - LastBattlestar - 10-02-2011 The trenches are made from Plastruct ABS C-section Jase. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's C-12? I used aluminium C-channel for mine, with only the outer lower face being Plastruct.Mike RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - JAWS - 10-02-2011 Ok I didn't see it before but now you guys have pointed it out its clear. Thanks for that. Unfortunately my local Plastruct supplier closed down so looks like another wait for mailorder. Might aswell get some other stuff while Im at it for my Probe Pod builds. RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - Richard_2001 - 10-02-2011 Guys, For some reason I cant fathom I get email about reply's to this thread but when I log in I cant see them at all. Edit: Until of course I posted this then they show up. Gremlins in the software I bet. RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - JAWS - 10-03-2011 Strange. I don't get that but I don't get notifications that threads have been updated so I miss alot of stuff thats getting posted unless I go looking in every thread... Sorry fellas hopefully when I upgrade everything will work better. This system is now outdated & MyBB is running upgraded versions which I hope we can transfer too. RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - Richard_2001 - 10-03-2011 Jason, Hopefully an upgrade will clear up these annoying little problems ![]() darkimmitator, Glad to know it is not just me ![]() Richard RE: Jases Battlestar Galactica - JAWS - 10-03-2011 (10-01-2011, 08:19 PM)Wombat Wrote: It was good chatting with you last night also mate! Thanks Mike & Phil. By my calculations I think I will be useing the Plastruct Traditional ABS Channels # C12. I will certainly get both though & do some tests to be sure. Can someone Id the part on the end of the launch tube piece please? Its in yellow.
